When you remodel your master bathroom, shouldn’t you make a list of all the things you have dreamed of having? It is a place you spend quite a bit of time in, so why wouldn’t you want it to be perfect?
There are plenty of things you can add to your new bathroom to elevate it to the next level of luxury. It’s a great idea to do some research before you start planning your new bathroom.
Must-Haves for Your Master Bath
While your list will be tailored to your needs and budget, here are a few ideas.
Double Sinks
Getting ready in the morning can already seem like a chore. Do you really need his whiskers falling on your toothbrush? Double sinks give each other some space to get ready for work or bed.
Closet and Storage
Getting enough closet and storage space anywhere seems like a dream, but you want enough space for towels, extra soap, and all your other bathroom necessities. No one wants to run down the hall for a towel when they are naked and dripping wet.
Touchless Taps
Touchless taps are great. Think about how nice they are when you are in a public washroom. When you have something on your hand you need to wash off, you don’t want to have to wash it off the taps, too.
Water Closet
Sharing a bathroom is already a big ask. Wouldn’t it be nice to be able to have just that extra bit of privacy? Whether it is a partner, the kids, or the pets, it seems like we can’t even get a break when we need to relieve ourselves.
Luxury Countertops
If your countertop is just standard laminate or Formica, why not treat yourself to something you will enjoy seeing every day. Consider materials like granite, marble, or quartz for your new bathroom.
Good Lighting
We have all been there. You put on your makeup and then when you see yourself in better lighting, you look like a clown. Get yourself some proper lighting that is adjustable. Brighter for when you need it, softer for those softer moments.
Expanded Shower
A large, walk-in shower with glass doors is very popular and makes a world of difference to your daily shower. You can get double shower heads if you like to share your shower or just want water coming at you from both sides.
Separate Tub
A stand-alone bathtub is a great treat. Get one that you never want to get out of. Even if you think you don’t have enough space, you can get them retrofitted to fit anywhere. And, if you can’t go wide, go deep!
Radiant-Heat Floors
Those of us who endure cold climates know all too well the shock of the cold bathroom tiles at 2 am. Why not get out of your bath or visit the washroom in the middle of the night and not have the cold shock of icy tiles? If you are already renovating, now is the perfect time to get them in.
Good Ventilation
Gone are the days of the noisy clunky bathroom fan. You want to clear the humidity that clings to the walls and mirror and any lingering odors quickly and quietly.
