Whether you are entertaining just your family or you like to have big dinner parties, you can remodel your kitchen to make it all easier. Sometimes we simply don’t have people over because our kitchens won’t accommodate it.
But a simple remodel can make a world of difference. If you need more space, updated appliances, or more seating, that can all be done to budget. Here are a few ways to make your kitchen easier to entertain.
How to Remodel Your Kitchen for Entertaining
There are a few ways you can make your kitchen more entertainment-friendly. If you don’t have a big budget, don’t worry. You can make a few adjustments to help your kitchen flow better.
Open it Up
One of the most frustrating aspects of a kitchen is not having enough room. Even if you have enough counter space, and a bigger kitchen, trying to work or function with a few people in it can be too cramped.
Taking out a wall can make all the difference you need. An open floor plan allows you to move around the kitchen more freely, allow more than one or two people to work in the area, and move from one room to the next with food or drinks.
Add an Island
An island can also be a big improvement when you remodel your kitchen. It gives you far more workspace, more storage area, more seating, and lets others come in to help.
An island allows people to sit, eat, or work on all four sides. You can also add a few appliances to an island, like a smaller fridge, warming drawer, and a sink for cleaning up, food prep, and more.
Every kitchen can use more storage, but if you like to entertain, you likely need space for the platters, glasses, serving dishes, and all the other items you need.
A walk-in pantry can not only hold a lot more but you can include a coffee station, extra appliances, food storage, and anything else you use a lot. These pantries can be almost invisible when closed.
If your space is limited, consider going up. You can get extra high cabinets, built-in slider drawers, lazy-susans, and cabinets with adjustable shelves to add more space when needed.
Extend the Room
If you have the space, open up your kitchen to join up in an adjoining room or outside. A separate dining room will become much bigger once it’s joined on to the kitchen.
A large patio outside is the perfect way to let your guests spill over to the extended space. It’s a perfect idea when you are considering a remodel for your kitchen.
Smart appliances, extra fridges or stoves, and warming drawers, built-in ice machines, just to name a few, can help make entertaining much easier. As the host, you should also be able to enjoy yourself.
Programmable appliances, from the dishwasher to the oven can all make entertaining much easier and enjoyable. Doubling up on ovens or microwaves can allow you to make all the food in half the time.

It really only requires a few smaller adjustments to make your kitchen easier to function in. If you like to entertain, you need a kitchen that allows you to move about freely.
