It is not porous so it won’t absorb liquids or become infected with viruses or bacteria. It looks just as great as marble or granite, but it is much more durable, and requires next to no maintenance.

While all of these materials are perfectly fine for your countertops, marble and granite require a lot of maintenance and are susceptible to stains and damage. For the durability and lack of needed maintenance, quartz is much less expensive, as well.
